St Luke’s Sportive – About the event

 The Final Push…

The 19th July, 2015 sees the 5th and final installment of this event in Ferns, Co Wexford.  It has grown every year since its inception in 2011. All money raised through this event goes directly to the hospital. This is possible due to our sponsors kindness in covering our costs and the many volunteers who give up their time to make it happen. To date we have raised €46,500.

St Luke’s Hospital first opened its doors in 1952.  For year’s cancer services were under-funded due to lack of Government finances.

In 1981, The Friends of St Luke’s was established to help fund new cancer treatment equipment at the hospital.

In the 1990’s the hospital, with the help of The Friends, embarked on a major upgrade of all facilities.  Now patients and visitors are pleasantly surprised by the grounds and environment.  The objective of these enhancements was to improve the patient experience and is one which continues today.

The sportive consists of a 60K and 100K route. For more information on how to participate please see our “how to enter” tab.
